Ghana's Kintampo Waterfalls Open to the Public after Tragic Accident
After a very disturbing tragedy that happened early this year at the kintampo waterfalls, one of the popular and interesting attraction sites in Ghana located in the Brong Ahafo Region, Vice President of the republic of Ghana , H.E Alhaji Mahamadu Bawumia has reopened the attraction to the general public.
The waterfalls was closed following a disaster which resulted in the death of 18 patrons mostly students from Wenchi Methodist Senior High School on March 19, 2017 when a tree fell on them as a result of adverse weather conditions.
The facility has since undergone a rehabilitation program adding an additional staircase to the existing one, new summer huts, new ticketing and gate house and new changing rooms for visitors.
Included in the new staircase is a platform which will provide patrons with a clear view of the waterfalls and enable them to take selfies.
This staircase is also being constructed in a way to make it easier for visitors to descend to the waterfalls.
The re-opening of the waterfall coincides with the celebration of the Kurubi Festival of the chiefs and people of the Wangara Community in Ghana in Kintampo, to which the the Vice-President has also been invited as the Guest of Honour.
With the re-opening of the waterfall, Kintampo will spring back to its glory as hosting one of Ghana’s ironic tourist attractions. The local economy would also become vibrant again.
Now your safety at KINTAMPO FALLS IS DECLARED!
Have a great experience at Kintampo Waterfalls!
