#GhanaBudget2018: Government to Abolish Taxes on Domestic Flights

As promised  in the 2017 budget, the Minister for Finance, Hon. Ken Ofori Atta has announced government's decision to scrap the 17.5 percent Value Added Tax (VAT) imposed on domestic travels during the budget presentation at the Parliament house today.

The tax cut according to the Finance Minister is expected to bring relief to Ghanaians and help transform the economy.,

Tourism
The Minister also mentioned that, a gastronomic festival will be organised to showcase Ghanaian foods and recipes through cooking competitions throughout the country as part of efforts to promote the local Ghanaian cuisine.

He further indicated that government will continue its initiatives to improve the Creative Arts sector with the establishment of a fully functional Creative Arts Secretariat and the commencement of feasibility studies to set up a Creative Arts Fund.
